Biography
Carrol Reaser Parris joined Wayne State University June 2023 in the role of Academic Advisor II within the Department of Communication, advising undergraduate students majoring in Film and Media Arts Studies. Carrol is a student-centered transformational leader facilitating student goals of progressing toward degree completion from matriculation to graduation. Carrol's professional experience within higher education began at the University of Detroit Mercy where she served as a Student Services Coordinator and Academic Advisor for over a decade within the College of Business Administration.
Carrol also has professional experience as an Academic Advisor at Lawrence Technological University, and as a Graduate Student Services Coordinator at Oakland University. Carrol is a native Detroiter, attending Detroit Public Schools. She enjoys traveling internationally, her most recent trip was to Rome, Italy in April of this year where she gained an opportunity to visit the Colosseum, St. Peter's Basilica, and to meet the Pope. Carrol also enjoys interior decorating, entertaining, and spending time with family and friends.
