Wayne State student tabbed for Summer 2015 White House internship

Junior journalism major Tim Carroll has been named a White House intern for the summer of 2015, according to a press release from the White House. Carroll, the former editor of the student newspaper The South End at Wayne State University, is one of 149 students from 78 universities named to the prestigious internship, according to the release.

Students who are chosen to participate in the White House Internship Program gain invaluable professional experience and leadership skills in a fast-paced and unique work environment, designed to prepare them for various future leadership opportunities.

According to WhiteHouse.gov, interns work in one of several key departments, including the Office of Communications, and daily tasks are challenging and diverse, ranging from conducting research, writing memos, social media engagement, and online content creation.
