COM 6680 sec.002, Allesee Public Lectures with Filmmaker Julie Dash

Through public screenings/lectures, group discussions and assigned readings, this course explores the work and influences of distinguished filmmaker Julie Dash, the 2013 Bob Allison (Allesee) Endowed Chair in Media in the Dept. of Communication. Students will gain first person insights on such classic Dash films as Illusions, Daughters of the Dust, Praise House, The Rosa Parks Story and more.
