PUBLIC MEDIA STUDIES AND PRACTICES (COM 5480)

4 CREDIT COURSE

Learn about communications laws and policies and how they affect the structure of media operations. The course exposes students to different communications issues in order to develop an understanding of the impact that telecommunications has on society. Students will develop a critical perspective as they examine various policies, laws, and regulations which govern our media system. Several documentary films will be shown during the semester and students will read George Orwell's novel, Nineteen Eighty-Four.

This 4-credit course meets Monday and Wednesday mornings from 10 to 12.
