PRSSA Announces Friend of the Program, Look Out World Awards
The Friend of the Program award honors an individual who goes above and beyond for the Wayne State Public Relations Program and our students:
Al Sebastian not only establishes relationships with students, mentors and guides them through the beginning stages of their career, but also nurtures these relationships into lifelong friendships.

The Look Out World award is to honor individuals who exemplify the future of the industry:
Kristin Shaw is an award-winning marketing and communications professional. She excels in her field, mentors and gives back to the community. She is currently a Communications and Public Involvement Coordinator at WSP, one of the world's leading engineering professional services consulting firms. Kristin is accessible to WSU students and comes back often to mentor and bridge the gap between our PR program and the local professional landscape. She has received numerous awards and accreditations in her budding career, most notably she's a Crain's 20 in Their 20s 2019 honoree, a Detroit Young Professional's Vanguard Award recipient and a LEED AP O+M.
We're thankful for how well she represents our program and appreciate the generosity of her time. She's an excellent role model and many of our students look up to her. Thank you, Kristin!
Stephen Jones currently works at Van Dyke Horn Public Relations as an account executive. He has a diverse background after serving automotive, aviation, consumer product and non-profit clients at a Farmington Hills-based PR agency. Before that, he worked at FCA as a news center coordinator.
We're so grateful for his dedication to the Wayne State University Public Relations Mentorship Program. He has ensured that our students have the opportunity to create strong relationships with local professionals. Thank you, Stephen!
