Ben Burns, director of Wayne State's journalism program and former editor of the Detroit News, commented about the newspaper strike 15 years ago which led to 2,000 Detroit newspaper workers taking their labor dispute to the streets. The strike lasted nearly two years. Burns said there were miscalculations on both sides of the bargaining table.
