Detroit-themed art auction benefits Children's Hospital of Michigan

Have you noticed the "Man in the City" sculpture installations around Detroit? The colorful silhouettes can be found lurking on rooftops all around town. They started popping up in 2008, and a part of the campaign are "Man in the City"-themed fundraisers to benefit the Children's Hospital of Michigan, a program that integrates art activities into the hospital. Wayne State University students will host the "Heart of Art" fundraiser to support the Suavé Art Foundation and Children's Hospital of Michigan Healing Arts Program at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 28 at Harry's Bar in Detroit. "Man in the City"-inspired posters designed by iconic artists Gary Grimshaw and Carl Lundgren will be auctioned off, as well as other local business merchandise.

Art fundraisers help disabled, kids
On March 28, Wayne State University students and the Sauve Art Foundation host the Heart of Art fundraiser. Attendees will have an opportunity to bid on gift cards, merchandise and art projects during the silent auction. Monies raised will be donated to the DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan Healing Arts Program. The program is dedicated to improving the health care experience for patients, families, and caregivers by integrating arts into the hospital setting. The event takes place at 7 p.m. March 28 at Harry's Bar, 2482 Clifford, Detroit. Admission is free. For information, call Jessica Sader at (586) 879-7104.

"Heart of Art" fundraiser
Students from Wayne State University, with support from the Sauvé Art Foundation, are hosting the "Heart of Art" fundraiser benefiting the Children's Hospital of Michigan Healing Arts Program. The event begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 28, at Harry's Bar located at 2482 Clifford in Detroit. The "Heart of Art" fundraiser, organized by Wayne State public relations majors Desiree Jennings, Jessica Sader and Kristin Shaw, gives individuals the opportunity to give back to children of Michigan, while kicking back on a Friday night.
