Daniel Dumas is a driven young media professional who has successfully merged pertinent multi-media skills and journalism acumen to become one of the most decorated college journalists in Michigan.

Dumas works for WJBK-TV Fox 2 Detroit, gathering insight into the sports scene of Metro Detroit as an intern. This year he also launched his "Media Revolution" initiative to help small business owners build up the media and marketing wing of their business to bring increased revenue, customers and awareness.

He served in over sixteen media-related positions in the areas of corporate communications, TV broadcasting, and radio, newspaper and television production, and acquired numerous journalism awards from organizations such as the Michigan Association of Broadcasters and the Society of Professional Journalists Detroit. He was featured in The Detroit News for becoming the first recipient of Wayne State University's Benjamin Burns Endowed Scholarship for Excellence in Journalism.

He participated in an apprenticeship with WXYZ-TV 7, Detroit, the number one news outlet in the state of Michigan, where he worked as a sports journalist covering the Detroit Red Wings, Lions, Pistons, Tigers and collegiate athletics.

Dumas is a senior at Wayne State where he studies broadcast journalism and multimedia and is a member of the Wayne State University Journalism Institute for Media Diversity professional honors program. He has a passion for journalism which has propelled him to become one of the premier faces of the journalism program of Wayne State University. He covers Wayne State Warrior basketball and football, filming, conducting interviews and editing sports news packages.
