WSU journalism major Angelina Czarnecki receives Alumni Assoc. scholarship...

Upon the recommendation of the Department of Communication, journalism major Angelina Czarnecki was awarded this year's College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship was established to recognize scholastic achievement, to encourage continued progress and to provide assistance to students in financing their education in the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts.

Angelina Czarnecki began attending Wayne State in the fall 2010 semester. From the time of enrollment, she was sure she wanted to pursue broadcast journalism with a focus in radio. During her time at Wayne State she participated in WAYN Radio, the student run radio station. At WAYN Radio she hosts her own program, Michigan Movement, where she shares with students her interest in the local culture. "Two years ago I began managing the station," Czarnecki said. "It has allowed me to work with students, faculty and other members of the community that have fulfilled my college experience in a way I could not have imagined." In her free time, Czarnecki frequents music venues and restaurants and shares her experiences via social media. "Though I still manage to have some moments to myself," Czarnecki said, "social media networks like Twitter and Instagram have strengthened my relationship with the local community."
