WSU journalism accepts scholarship app's through 3/7...

Journalism scholarships for fall 2014 now are available.

Journalism students with a GPA of 3.0 or better may apply by Friday, March 7, 2014. Scholarships are awarded to qualified applicants in the $1,000 to $2,000 range from various scholarship funds. Applications are available in the journalism program's office, 553 Manoogian Hall.

In particular we would highlight that applications for the WXYZ-TV Investigative Journalism Scholarship are accepted until March 7.
* You must be a journalism or broadcast journalism major.
* One winner will receive the $1000 award as a scholarship this semester.
* Graduating seniors are welcome to apply.
Interested students have two options:
Write a 3 - 5 page typed essay on the most impressive piece of investigative journalism you have encountered and why it is memorable. This can be a broadcast, print or online story.
OR
Write a story proposal about a local news topic you would like to investigate and how you would go about doing so, and why it deserves coverage.
Applications are available in the journalism program's office, 553 Manoogian Hall.
