Former WSU Student Appointed as Vice President of the Alumni Association Board
Komal Shah Kapoor (WSU MA '02 & Ph.D. '07)
Two-time CFPCA graduate, Dr. Komal Shah Kapoor is the newly elected Vice President of the Wayne State Alumni Association. She also serves as a regional volunteer leader in Los Angeles. In both these roles, she champions the Wayne State mission, and works toward building a more engaged alumni base through programs, events and initiatives.
Born and raised in India, Dr. Kapoor has spent 20+ years in corporate, freelance, academic and entrepreneurial circles in Mumbai, Detroit, NYC and LA. She is the Founder and CEO of SpeakerPost, a social good online marketplace for academic and industry professionals, as well as an educator who has taught at California State University, Pepperdine University, and University of California, Los Angeles. She is also an avid blogger and writes about South Asian identity and culture on her LA-based lifestyle blog, Green Sea Shells. Dr. Kapoor currently resides in Manhattan Beach, CA with her husband, her darling daughter and her pretty labradoodle, Haiku.
