Communication seeks part-time faculty applicants...

The Department of Communication at Wayne State University is accepting applications for part-time faculty members to teach introductory communication courses for the Fall and Winter terms 2011-2012 especially in the following areas: Public Speaking, Film, Journalism, Media Arts and Studies, and Public Relations.

Part-time faculty generally teach one course and occasionally two courses per semester. Part-time faculty are responsible for preparing course syllabi, instructing students during the course hours, evaluating student work, preparing and administering examinations and holding office hours on a regular basis.

To be eligible for consideration, a candidate should possess a Master's Degree in Communication and have some teaching experience. Candidates should submit a portfolio including: a letter of application, curriculum vitae, hours of availability for teaching, and a short statement of teaching philosophy of not more than one page in length.
