Matthew Warner is a rhetorical scholar, teacher and forensics coach. His research centers around the rhetoric of sovereignty and citizenship/identity. He is interested in rhetorical theory, rhetoric of space/place, psychoanalysis, cultural rhetorics and particularly in questions of sovereignty in indigenous contexts. Matthew holds degrees from Liberty University in communication, with a BS emphasis in journalism and a MA emphasis in public address and intercultural communication. He joined the faculty of Hillsdale College as an assistant director of forensics and lecturer in the Department of Theatre and Speech in 2008.
