Biography

Gottesman holds a BFA in dance from Ohio University, and an MFA in dance choreography & technology from The Ohio State University. His research focuses on the use of advanced technologies in dance theatre performance including telematics (live Internet broadcast), interactive media, and processed video with movement in live performance. He held a lectureship and staff position in the Maggie Allesee Department of Dance from 2002 to 2008, teaching modern dance technique, choreography, introduction to dance, and courses in dance technology, along with directing the WSU Dance Company to American College Dance Festival Regional and National honors. Since 2007 Gottesman has served as a multimedia specialist in the media arts area of the Department of Communication at WSU where he continues to teach, challenging traditional approaches to education and production.
